| About me. |
I'm one of many people who go by the name Dave Jones. Having a common name is something of a hindrance on the interweb, as you get all kinds of people asking
questions about other people unfortunate enough to share your name. In a vague hope to stop some of the more ridiculous emails I get:
- I am not the guy from the 60's band The Monkees (Although, I do like monkeys). If you came here searching for 'Davy', sorry, you're
out of luck. You'll probably be horrified at the 'music' I listen to and create.
- I am also not Dave Jones, the Californian politician
- I am also not David Jones, manager of Cardiff City football club. (Although I did unfortunately, grow up in Wales)
- I didn't write the Amiga game "Blood money" (Though I did write a bunch of Amiga shareware back in the mid 1990s). (that game did in fact, kick ass fwiw, even if I did have nothing to do with it)
- I am also not any of these other people named David Jones.
- I work for Red Hat as a maintainer of the Fedora kernel, and
also various other opensource things. This does not mean "Mail me if you have problems with Red Hat products". We do have a support department, which I don't work in.
(This goes double for people asking for help using Unbreakable Linux. Really guys, this is taking the piss no?)
- I live near Boston, MA, USA.
- I like cheese.
